#MuzwAaMagazine For nearly two decades, the Serpentine Pavilion has been a landmark of architectural innovation, transforming London’s Hyde Park into a stage for groundbreaking design. This year, Seoul-based architect Minsuk Cho of Mass Studies brought a bold new vision with Archipelagic Void, a pavilion composed of five timber ‘islands’ that circle a central void. This radical reimagining of the pavilion typology draws inspiration from the madang, a communal courtyard found in traditional Korean homes. "We were given a great riddle to demonstrate what this pavilion can do," Cho reflects, on the unique challenge of designing the Serpentine Pavilion, which remained open to the public until October 27, 2024. #MuzwAaMagazine Saudi Arabia relies on oil for nearly 40% of its GDP. To reduce this dependency, the government launched Saudi Vision 2030 in 2016, aiming to diversify revenue sources and attract global investment. Central to this vision is NEOM, a series of ambitious projects in Tabuk province, set to reshape real estate with a $500+ billion budget across 26,500 sq km. NEOM will feature a floating industrial city, a linear settlement, mountain hotels, and more—all with a futuristic edge and a commitment to renewable energy. With a vast area under development and an extravagant budget, the project has offered an open laboratory for leading architects and designers from all over the world, including ”starchitect” firms such as BIG - Bjarke Ingels Group, Zaha Hadid Architects, and OMA, all of which have been reeled in. #MuzwAaMagazine Over a million visitors are set to converge on the Japanese city of Osaka for the upcoming Expo 2025, which is scheduled to run for a period of 6 months from April 13 to October 13, 2025. The World Expos are organized by the Bureau International des Expositions with the aim to be a global stage for nations and organizations to unveil cutting-edge technologies and solutions. With the theme of “Designing Future Society for our Lives,” Expo 2025 Osaka will seek to address global challenges and inspire innovative ideas that enhance our collective future with many of the pavilions addressing the climate crisis head-on.  Construction is currently underway for the master plan designed by celebrated Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto Atelier Paris in collaboration with Japan-based Tohata Architects and Engineers and Azusa Sekkei. As work progresses, many of the 47 participating countries have begun revealing visualizations of their respective pavilions.
