Unveiling the Quantum Computing Industry’s largest ever GHZ state created with Logical Qubits and smashing all existing records along the way — and setting new highs with 5️⃣0️⃣ entangled Logical Qubits!   Join Quantinuum’s Plenary Session today at 10:00 AM PT where Dr. David Hayes, Director of Computational Theory and Design at Quantinuum and our Quantum Error Correcting team lead will unveil details of the 50 qubit GHZ state created with logical qubits — smashing through all previous records and setting yet another high bar for the quantum ecosystem.   There’s a strong industry consensus on the importance of fault-tolerant quantum computers, yet demonstrations of these capabilities are still rare – and we at Quantinuum lead the way with high benchmarks in all the metrics that count.   In his presentation, Dr. Hayes will outline three high-level requirements for developing industry-scale quantum computation: (1) high-performance hardware, (2) robust software, and (3) co-development with partners to optimize hardware and error correction for specific applications. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear about Quantinuum’s impressive demonstrations of cutting-edge hardware and software, signaling that we are ready to kickstart application designs! We are accelerating progress for the whole quantum sector and look forward to 2025 where we will extend our lead further.   For further details: https://lnkd.in/eQaGUVr8

"The world's first topological qubit" !! Beyond the headline, which is gratifying and meaningful, there are a number of reasons why this matters to the quantum industry and the sector as a whole. The overall approach to topological quantum computing was inspired largely by Alexei Kitaev and Michael Freedman and built with long term focus by Microsoft Station Q. I first commissioned work into this in 2015 (Henrik Dreyer and Andrew Simmons) and we have explored a slightly different way of achieving the same end - a qubit that is naturally fault tolerant. The results that were published in the paper below is a stunning achievement and again reinforces how long-term plans are slowly but surely falling into place. Our work on non-abelian anyons sits alongside our work in QEC more generally as well as our collaboration with other experts. Whilst Microsoft continue to work on their own approach to Topological Qubits, and other academic institutions push the envelope as well, I could not be prouder of our work that included leading researchers from Harvard University and Caltech. We have an exciting period ahead on the whole topic of QEC, including some results on GHZ states and FT quantum computing that I know will continue to set the pace. Quantinuum lead the field here, and this year have helped the whole eco-system in creating landmark publications which ensure that we all benefit on the journey ahead. Our QEC team, lead overall by David Hayes has some eye popping results coming out soon. All of this is enabled by the world's most powerful quantum computer, bar none, and yes, confirming what I stated in my article from last week - watch out in 2025 for the first working "Quantum Supercomputer" that brings forward the overall timelines for real world impact. #topologicalquantumcomputing #topologicalqubits #quantumcomputing #quantumerrorcorrection https://lnkd.in/ejJE86sH

In a long-anticipated commercial trial to generate unforgeable digital assets using quantum technologies, Quantinuum, Mitsui & Co., Ltd. and NEC Corporation have demonstrated the transmission of quantum tokens across a fiber-optic network in Japan.    Learn more in our announcement: https://lnkd.in/ehpfwaGY Quantum tokens were originally conceived to provide unforgeability, privacy, and fast settlement, in a single financial instrument. Quantinuum’s trial demonstrated this idea in the real world for the very first time.   Remarkably, using off-the-shelf hardware, quantum tokens were transmitted across 10km of fiber in Tokyo, using commercial quantum key distribution (QKD) devices provided by NEC. This demonstration points to applications in areas such as stock exchange and commodity-backed tokens – all areas where unforgeability and rapid verification could provide significant advantages.   This video explains the application of quantum tokens for financial security: https://lnkd.in/eAaurnwA Discover this new frontier of financial security, powered by quantum, in our white paper: https://lnkd.in/eE7_hpsr #cybersecurity #fintech #quantumtech
