Welcoming Future Finance Leaders to Our Office! Today, we were thrilled to host an Open Day for BSc Finance and Investment students from De Montfort University (DMU) in our office! This enriching experience allowed students to dive into real-world finance concepts and learn about SkyBridge Invest’s role in the industry. DMU is a vibrant, forward-thinking global university based in the UK, known for its academic excellence and focus on graduate careers. DMU Kazakhstan takes this legacy a step further by delivering UK qualifications in Kazakhstan. The Open Day provided students with an in-depth look at critical areas of finance and investments. As hosts, we explored the topic of valuation using various methods and approaches, enhancing their understanding of this essential finance discipline. Presentations and speeches on these topics were delivered by colleagues from our Investment Banking, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Research departments, offering students valuable insights from industry experts. The sessions covered key areas such as mastering the art of structuring deals in investment banking, exploring the process of evaluating companies using market comparables methods and valuation multipliers in mergers and acquisitions, and delving into the role of fundamental analysis and valuation in equity research to uncover investment opportunities and support strategic decisions. Interactive learning sessions included engaging activities that simulated real-world scenarios. Students built financial models, crafted detailed valuations using multiples, and presented their results to mock investors. They also participated in the Financial Triathlon, where they collaborated under time constraints to create accurate financial reports, fostering teamwork and problem-solving skills. This Open Day exemplifies our commitment to nurturing future leaders in finance by creating a bridge between academic learning and professional excellence. Together, we are shaping a brighter, more innovative future for the finance and investment sectors.

This year’s event delved into crucial topics such as 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀, and 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴. The Congress program featured two plenary sessions and four panel discussions, with distinguished speakers from the National Bank of Kazakhstan, Ministry of Finance, regulatory bodies, financial institutions, and independent experts sharing their insights. The first panel session focused on the 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁, exploring innovations in loans, insurance, and investment products. 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗽𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘆𝗲𝘃𝗮, Chair of the Board at 𝗦𝗸𝘆𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁, underscored the impact of digitalization and technology in democratizing investment opportunities. She highlighted initiatives like People’s IPO and financial literacy programs, which are empowering Kazakhstan’s population to participate in investment activities. Sholpan also shed light on the evolving preferences of diverse generations of investors and the investment products tailored to their needs. 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐒𝐢𝐱 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫 𝐀𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭! The SkyBridge Invest team is thrilled to congratulate our colleague Alma Karabassova, on an extraordinary achievement at the TCS New York City Marathon! On November 3, athletes from around the world gathered for this prestigious race – one of the six World Marathon Majors, renowned for its challenging course across New York City's five boroughs. Alma’s completion of her sixth major marathon earned her the highly-coveted Six Star Medal! This award, presented by the Abbott World Marathon Majors, is given to athletes who complete all six major marathons: Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago, and New York City. Alma joins an elite circle of only 12 athletes from Kazakhstan who have reached this remarkable milestone. Her journey inspires us all, and we’re proud to celebrate her determination and excellence both on and off the racecourse. Congratulations on this outstanding accomplishment!

SkyBridge Invest at the VII Capital Markets Kazakhstan Conference On October 17th, SkyBridge Invest was proud to participate in the VII Capital Markets Kazakhstan Conference in Almaty, organized by CBonds. The event gathered over 120 participants to dive into the latest trends shaping Kazakhstan’s financial market, covering topics such as corporate bonds, macroeconomic insights, and emerging investment opportunities. Our former CEO and newly appointed Chairperson of the Board of Directors, Sholpan Ainabayeva, took the stage as the moderator for the panel “New Technologies in Financial Markets: Digital Assets and AI Tools”. This engaging discussion spotlighted key regulatory initiatives by the Astana Financial Services Authority (AFSA), the outcomes of the first fintech “sandbox”, the ongoing digital development plans KASE stock exchange, and advancements in digital processes within Kazakhstani banks, notably the pioneering plan of Bereke bank to issue the country’s first cryptocurrency cards.  Adding to the insights on AI, the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI) at Nazarbayev University presented an in-depth report on AI advancements. ISSAI is a leading driver of research and innovation in Kazakhstan’s digital space, pushing the frontier of AI research. SkyBridge Invest at KASE Fest in Almaty Today, we had the pleasure of participating in the final KASE Fest of 2024, held at Kazakh-British Technical University in Almaty. This event concluded a series of broker fairs organized by Kazakhstan Stock Exchange in Pavlodar, Astana and Almaty, in support of World Investor Week 2024. The KASE Fest events brought together over 1,000 participants, with industry experts from the Exchange, brokerage firms and financial companies sharing insights on navigating the stock market and collaborating with brokerage companies. Our CEO Sholpan Ainabayeva delivered an insightful presentation on portfolio building and the risk-return tradeoff, offering valuable guidance to the students in attendance.
