We had the pleasure of hosting Florence Quintard, Chief Compliance Officer for the Group, in the EMME cluster last week, with a first stop in Abu Dhabi, UAE, where she was welcomed by Emmanuel Jacquot, CEO for GCC countries, and Nathalie Eid, Chief Legal and Compliance Officer of EMME. They convened at AL-MUNTADA to conduct the Compliance Seminar organized by the Chief Legal and Compliance EMME, bringing together teams from various UAE entities, including Chryso, GCP, and Whinchem. Following this, Nathalie and Florence traveled to Lebanon, where they were received by Antoine GHAZAL, CEO for EMME cluster in Beirut. There, they organized compliance seminars for the compliance officers and BCC, focusing on competition laws and trade compliance. The next day, they visited the Saint-Gobain Weber plant in Hosrayel-Jbeil. Ramy Taleb, Managing Director of Saint-Gobain Lebanon and Jordan, along with his team, provided a tour of the manufacturing processes and safety measures at the factory. The visit of Florence to the cluster was highly enriching for our teams, and we look forward to welcoming her in other countries of the EMME cluster.

For three days, the EMME EHS team conducted a Yellow Belt H&S Risk Reduction training at the Saint-Gobain Weber Türkiye İzmir Plant, bringing together participants from İZOCAM and Saint-Gobain Weber Türkiye plants. The training aimed to: Equip participants with skills to identify root causes of H&S risks, promote active H&S risk reduction through the restoration and maintenance of basic H&S conditions and the application of the Hierarchy of Control, and ensure the successful completion of an H&S Risk Reduction project using the WCM Saint-Gobain Standard Methodology. Participants are required to complete a Risk Reduction project within 100 days to achieve Yellow Belt H&S Risk Reduction certification. We extend our best wishes to all participants for success in their projects and express our sincere gratitude to our dedicated WCM Certified trainers, Tugba EREN, Gonul YUZBEY, and Co-Trainer MUSA CEYLAN, for their exceptional organization and support throughout the training. Some relaxation time was scheduled to rejuvenate and energize the participants during the session! ☀️

Thierry Fournier, Senior Vice President and Saint-Gobain CEO for the SEMEA region, visited Türkiye last week. A traditional “Carrefour” session was held in Istanbul, bringing together around 250 collaborators to discuss strategy and align priorities for the coming years. At the end of the session, Mr. Fournier presented the OPEX Award to Ahmet Oruç, Operations Director of Izocam, and Engin Önder, Operations Director of Weber, in recognition of their teams' outstanding achievements. Türkiye was honored as the most active country in terms of operational excellence within the Saint-Gobain Group in 2024. The event concluded with a reception celebrating the #360yearsyoung anniversary of the group. the following days, Mr. Fournier, accompanied by Aykut Aydogan, Saint-Gobain CEO for Türkiye, and Murat Savci, Managing Director at İZOCAM, visited both HIS Yalitim and Izocam plants, where he had the opportunity to engage with the teams, discussing various aspects of the operational facilities.
