Caribbean Association of Banks, Inc (CAB) is a community of banks and other financial institutions in the Caribbean/CARICOM Region, whose mission is to advance the interests of member institutions through advocacy, networking, provision of training and other solutions to strengthen the Caribbean Financial Services sector . CAB currently represents 81 members comprising of General, Service and Associate members and three (3) Honorary Members - namely the Caribbean Development Bank, CARICOM, and the Caribbean Centre for Money and Finance. The CAB serves as a valuable source of information through publications, seminars, and conferences. CAB ensures that members stay up to date on legislative, regulatory and market developments that influence or impact the future of the banking and financial services industry. CAB provides industry-relevant information, educational and training support and effective advocacy to support members with the efficient and effective operation of their respective Institutions.

This case involves a significant data breach that occurred in April 2022 involving the Hive Ransomware group. A large supermarket chain in the Caribbean was targeted by the ransomware group, which resulted in a massive data dump of over 700,000 files. These files contained sensitive personal information of both employees and customers, making it the largest known data breach in the Caribbean to date. This breach has highlighted critical issues in data privacy for businesses across the region.
