Last week, our team attended the 13th edition of the CHICOS: The Caribbean Hotel Investment Conference & Operations Summit in Barbados. The event brought together industry leaders to discuss pivotal matters, including; market trends in the region, Caribbean airlift strategies, potential investments, the outlook of equity investors and operational tactics tailored to the unique needs of the Caribbean's hotel and tourism industry. Saint Lucia was represented at the 2nd UK – Caribbean Trade & Investment Forum in Central London from November 6-7th, 2024. The event was designed to attract trade with and investment into the Caribbean and strengthen the UK’s business relationship with the region as evidenced by special remarks by the Rt Hon David Lammy MP, Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs.  The forum was multi-sector, focusing on core sustainable infrastructure (including the blue and green economies) and access to finance. Invest Saint Lucia was able to meet and discuss these topics with various business interests within those sectors as we work to attract more investment from this important market.
