Accelerating sustainable agriculture to feed and protect our planet
Info
Sustainable agriculture is critical to addressing climate change and global food security. More help is needed to leverage and accelerate progress. As a global, non-profit organisation, our mission is to advance sustainable food production and farming systems that nourish the world population respecting the health of people, animals, and the planet. We do this by facilitating the adoption of sustainable agriculture using a collaborative and practical approach. We bridge the gap between science, technology and current agricultural practices to empower farmers and producers and deliver genuine impact and prosperity. Because there can be no conversation about feeding the planet that does not involve those who grow the food. The DMSF was born through the Datamars company’s deep experience in, and respect for agricultural communities and the critical role they play in providing food security for our planet. We encourage you to follow our journey and to join us on our mission.

The Datamars Sustainability Foundation is excited to announce the appointment of Jessica Villat as CEO. Jessica has a deep passion for and an extensive background in sustainability and regenerative agriculture, combined with diverse experience across international markets, communities and sectors. “I feel deeply honoured to join DMSF; the foundation’s dedication to farmers resonates profoundly with my journey. Shaped by the rural systems of my childhood in France, California and beyond, and driven by a curiosity across history, I've been fortunate to witness the rich tapestry of agricultural landscapes. Farmers’ voices from diverse cultures and backgrounds inspire me to cultivate regenerative practice worldwide. Living soil, as the beating heart of our shared ecosystem, nurtures symbiotic relationships and fosters economic, social, ecological, and cultural resilience for farmers and communities everywhere.” says Jessica. The DMSF was established in 2023 with a mission to advance sustainable food production and farming systems through a collaborative and farmer-centred approach. Jessica is strongly connected to our purpose. She also brings the proven ability to turn purpose into action in ways that bring people together to enable genuine, measurable change. We’re delighted to welcome Jessica to the DMSF team! Read more at https://lnkd.in/dha9mP3Q

With no shortage of passion and activity, the greatest positive impact will surely come when we collaborate and leverage our knowledge, resources and expertise with others. That was the goal behind our decision to partner with Climate Impact last November to host a ‘Future of Sustainable Agriculture’ round-table forum event in London. We brought together a selection of the region's key stakeholders in the agriculture and food value chain including farmers, academics, technology experts and food producers. The contributions and willingness to share, learn, debate and listen was truly humbling. A heartfelt thanks to all those who joined us and a special thanks to our speakers, who shared and helped spark debate, learning and opportunities. Even better is what’s happening after the event. The connections we’ve made, the potential collaborations underway, and the projects we’re exploring are helping us turn great conversations into genuine progress. We look forward to leading more of these events in future across different regions. Stay tuned! Stephen Murphy Klaus Ackerstaff Mea L.
