Hello everyone, we are growing steadily and have moved now to a larger area! We are moving from Technopark to Aeulestrasse 74, where we have a large office building and can gradually rent additional offices. This is just a 2 min footwalk away from the city centre of Vaduz. Our legal entity remains in Vaduz, Liechtenstein. A large presentation room for our quarterly and a large terrace for barbecues with a view of the Alps have convinced us. In addition to Vaduz, we also have new offices in Zug in 2025, Switzerland .... more about Zug in Q1. Your Ocean Quest Int. HQ Vaduz Source/Pictures: cv labs

Info
The Ocean Robotics Project is not just another NGO or robotics company. It goes beyond temporary efforts to remove some tons of plastic and garbage from the oceans. Our project aims to globally ban, prevent, and clean the oceans from all types of waste and toxins. We achieve this by leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as Robotics, AI, and Satellite Navigation. Additionally, we harness the power of social media to mobilize millions of people worldwide. Through this initiative, we also create thousands of new jobs in impoverished countries. Our mission is to develop and enhance underwater robots, drones, and wing gliders equipped with AI-driven control software. These advanced technologies enable us to effectively remove all kinds of garbage, with a special focus on plastic, from coastlines and deep ocean areas. In coastal regions, river banks, and estuaries, we prioritize supporting underprivileged communities. By empowering them to collect and distribute plastic waste, we not only help keep the oceans clean but also enable them to earn a sustainable income. Together, we can prevent plastic from even reaching the sea. Join us in the Ocean Robotics Project as we work towards a cleaner and healthier future for our oceans.
Juergen R.

Who we are ! Ocean Quest represents a Group of Entrepreneurs, Philanthropists, Environmentalists, Robotics & AI Experts and Students – who are committed to keep the oceans healthy, fight against the climat e change to absorb CO2 in rainforests and coastal areas, to look for new ways to feed the growing world’s population and to overcome water scarcity by developing new ways for desalination . The organization currently has about 65 experts and almost 400 members, growing by 1000% over last two years, and is organized as a global, adaptive organization, which is a combination of a Holacracy and a Podular (Cell) Organization. We are based in Liechtenstein (HQ), Switzerland, Europe, Mid-East, Africa and Asia-Pacific. Our Mission is crossing boundaries that are impossible for humans by using Robots, Drones and AI to be much more effective than ever before. The development of Underwater Spheres will enable Ocean Farming at depths up to 300 meters, with artificial light and micro power plants and drinking water. Our vision is to get additional food for millions of people, to support the fight against climate change and to support reforestation. Our biggest project in 2025 – 2030 will be a huge kelp forest between Swakopmund, Namibia, and Cape Town, SA, which will absorb 1.5 Million tons of C02 per year. Our new Deep Sea Gliders will be able to dive to depths of 6500 meters – our Hybrid Sea Drones can water on the sea surface, and stay there for days by waves of up to 6 meters, before flying back autonomously… Our Sustainability Unit (NGO) is already the largest customer of our Robotics & AI unit – We welcome everybody who wants to support us – be it as an expert, member, sponsor, investor or shareholder https://lnkd.in/eAsbiSat Your OQ Team Liechtenstein

Beside our new activities regarding planting kelp forests, underwater spheres and desalination of sea water - collecting plastic is still one of our major duties. Beaches In Europe and North America, beaches stay clean because a significant amount of plastic, garbage and electronic waste is shipped to Asia and Africa. The million of tons of plastic, which are sent every week to Far-East Asia, count as "recycled" in Europe. What a lie !!! Coastal Areas Areas lacking sandy beaches and local NGOs are filled with garbage and plastic in shockingly short periods of time. These are the beaches, where usually no tourists and hotels are .... Estuaries Approximately 20 major rivers, mostly in Asia and Africa, contribute significantly to ocean garbage and plastic pollution, but also Europe, is affected, like the river Drina in Bosnia$ Depths of the Sea 35% of plastic is deep in the seas, and almost 60% along inaccessible coast lines and in depths until 900 feet. Only 0.5% - 5% are on the surface .... Help us and the whole NGO Ocean family in the fight against GHOST NETS! Annually, 300,000 whales, dolphins, sharks and a countless amount of seabirds, perish from abandoned fishing nets, discarded due to age or damage to avoid the time-consuming process of on-board recycling. And even more of them are dying because of plastic in their stomachs .... Sponsored boats like Zodiacs help us remove small to medium-sized ghost nets efficiently. Marked with balloons, large ghost nets, weighing several tons, are transported to the coast by a trawler. Using advanced sonar tech and our new hybrid drones, we locate and surface nets for recycling also for other NGO's if desired. Ocean Quest International Team Spain, Barcelona

For our new Beach Robot 2.0 with autonomous drive (AUV with Phyton, Raspberry Pi, ROS 2.0, .....) we chose various different chassis dependent for which location they will be used. The ability to autonomously grip and transport a predefined object in any location somewhere outside with a gripper arm is unique in the world to date and only possible with latest innovations in AI … Next days you will also get a video of our Dev Bot how this works Greetings from Iceland (!) The Hamster Wheel ! I received a lot of emails after I published the blog below about the hamster wheel. One subsequent discussion in particular stuck in my mind. An old colleague wanted to join us, but was offered a position as Vice President by his employer shortly before he quit. A company with around 1000 employees ... Vice President! Well, well, I thought to myself. I congratulated him, of course, because he had already made up his mind. But to be honest, the position of Vice President reminds me more of a four-star hotel. You finally stand out from the crowd and are somebody. But in very few cases does a four-star hotel become a five-star hotel? The top management is too far away from you. If you travel a lot, you know how wide the range of four-star hotels is in terms of quality, salaries, facilities, etc. This is also the case with the Vice President. There is probably no other title in medium-sized companies that is as broadly occupied as that of a Vice President. Usually only as a staff position and with few to no employees... It's more of a park position. You make someone happy for a certain period of time. In many cases you don't even have to pay a salary increase and you secure the employee for years to come. Most people wait in vain for a position in management. Particularly resourceful employers then have a position as Senior Vice President or even Executive Vice President. So, if it becomes clear over the years that you have reached a dead end, it is better to put an end to the suffering and move to another company …. Juergen W.E. Roider Was that really it !? A strange coincidence took me away from my secure career path and gave me a completely new path and meaning in life. It may also be the case that after more than 20 years of work you simply want to do something new. But getting out of the proverbial hamster wheel was anything but easy. You give up all the security for which Europe is so coveted. You suddenly expose yourself to risks that can suddenly wipe out everything you've saved and everything you've achieved. And yet I would do it again. And I can only recommend anyone who is struggling with their career to try something new. Now. Because just like money, time passes by even more. And suddenly you ask yourself: was that it? Our new organization now includes many age groups, but above all the one that seems to have achieved everything and yet struggles with its fate in order to finally do something really meaningful....... Join us on our Kelp Project on the South-West Coast of Africa, in Namibia and South Africa, 2025 ! We are looking for oceanograhps, regional kelp experts, local farmers allowing us to set-up some greenhouses, students, environmentalists, and private and public sponsors. The south-west coast of Africa is ideal for planting kelp-forests to absorb CO2. We are in contact with local authorities to get the allowance for our project. In Australia, we work already on a pilot between Melbourne and Adelaide (2024), also to produce kelp for food, beside CO2 absorption Kelp is growing up to one meter per day in ideal conditions. You need however a depths of at least 30 - 40 meters and temperatures with maximum 18 degrees celsius, which is a litte bit different for every kind of kelp. Kelp can be easily grown in greenhouses and planted on the seabed with a new, specific solution from Ocean Quest. We developed specific clay vessels which can be produced by local people and deployed with local fishermen and monitored by our robots (ROV's and in future AUV's) By studying the topology of the seabed with satellites, the temperature and the currencies, around 197 miles can be used additionally for planting kelp A kelp plant of 45 meters (after few years) can absorb to about 0.6 – 0.8 ton of CO2 per year. And Kelp is growing very fast, up to 0.4 meters a day. Hence, seaweed biomass carbon's final carbon emission factor is 0.7933 (2/3 + 1/3 × 0.38 = 0.7933). Today, it is estimated, that all kelp worldwide can store around 5 Mio tons of CO2. Our project will absorb additional 1.5 Mio tons of CO2 per year and generate food for thousands of people. #Sponsoring #EU #UN #Food #Kelp #Oceans #Namibia #ZA #Africa #UAE Picture: Pexels , Mr. Miangos

Removal of Ghost Nets Why Now ? Every year, about 300’000 whales, dolphins and sharks are dying because of fishing nets, which were just thrown away because they are old or broken and because it takes to much time to store them on board before they would be recycled. With the help of a sponsor, we have started to buy first powerboats and inflatables like Zodiacs. With the enormous agility of these boats, we are able to remove ghost nets from small to medium size. Large ghost nets – with several tons of weight, can be only marked with balloons and then transported by a trawler to the coast. With latest sonar technology we can locate those nets and bring them to the surface for recycling. The sonar technology is part of our drones and wing gliders! Your Ocean Quest Int.
