Meet Natalie Dormady, creator of 365 Gentle Reminders

‘Doodling rainbows reminds me that storms will always end, and the light will return. Flowers and bumblebees remind me of how important each one of us are in this world.’

Natalie Dormady
Natalie Dormady, aka @littlearthlings – author, artist and creator of 365 Gentle Reminders

It’s a new year, and for many it’s a time of renewal and working toward a better relationship with themselves. We could all probably do with some self-compassion after the excess and family tensions that often come with the holidays, coupled with the deep darkness we experience in the winter (in our part of the world, at least!).

That’s why we’ve published 365 Gentle Reminders (just £9.99 during January 2020), a page-a-day book of positive, uplifting reminders illustrated by the inspiring Natalie Dormady. After battling with mental illnesses, Natalie found her passion for art while on her recovery journey, and she’s been sharing her Gentle Reminders on Instagram for a few years now. Get to know Natalie through our interview, below…

Get to know Kaylee Pinecone, creator of Tales of the Tarot

Last year, when we tweeted out looking for someone to create an original webcomic based on tarot or mind, body, spirit themes, we heard back almost immediately from Kaylee Pinecone. She developed an amazing idea that we knew people were going to love, and – if our social media and blog numbers are anything to go by – now we know how much it’s resonating with you!

Mini Profiles: Elizabeth Gilbert

Mini Profiles: Elizabeth Gilbert

We love ending the week with one of our #MiniMeditations – every Friday afternoon, we reveal an image from Mini Meditations on Joy by Adam & Lisa Murphy or Mini Meditations on Creativity by Tillie Walden. It’s such a nice, positive way to draw a line under the work week (at least for those of us on a 9 to 5)! The amazing artistry of these illustrations speaks for itself… but what about the thinkers, writers and artists who gave us these inspiring quotes? We think the meaning goes even deeper when you know the human behind the thought. Recently, we profiled Brené Brown, and now we’re looking at Elizabeth Gilbert.

Having shown off so many amazing illustrations from Tillie Walden (Mini Meditations on Creativity) and Adam & Lisa Murphy (Mini Meditations on Joy), we now want to turn our focus to the writers, artists and thinkers behind the quotes!

Thanks to Lisa’s incredible fans and their overwhelmingly positive response to her work, we saw a few snippets of the deck (one of our favourites is the Ten of Swords, shown above) and just had to jump on the chance to publish it.
