CEPA was commissioned by Shanthi Margam with the support of FPA Sri Lanka and French Embassy in Colombo to carry out a knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) survey on period poverty in selected settlements in the Colombo, Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte, and Thimbirigasyaya Divisional Secretariat Divisions. This research study is a part of The CAAPP Project which is an initiative to combat period poverty in Sri Lanka. The study looked at menstruation, menstrual practices and rituals, access to menstrual products, access to water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) facilities, and discrimination experienced by menstruating individuals between the ages of 15-49. CEPA was invited to present some of the key findings of this research at ReproSex 2024 held at BMICH on 06th of November 2024.
