We’re all about ‘Continuous Progression’ in the Sustainability space at Hirdaramani Apparel! We recently hosted our first-ever internal Environmental Sustainability Forum for our Sustainability teams where we reviewed our current progress towards our Future First Sustainability Roadmap targets and discussed actionable strategies for sustainable innovation. Hirdaramani Apparel joined hands with Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (KVPL) to support their efforts towards its native sapling planting initiative to protect and conserve the ‘Weoya’ catchment of the Kelani River basin. This project will entail the restoration of the ‘Weoya’ catchment area by clearing it and planting 500 native sapling species in carefully chosen locations. As part of the MOU with KVPL, Hirdaramani Apparel will oversee the management of the planting site and support its progress, in line with the company’s Future First Sustainability Roadmap 2025 agenda’s reforestation target. #Hirdaramani #HirdaramaniApparel #FutureFirst #gogreen #KVPL

We’re proud to announce that Hirdaramani is the first organisation from Sri Lanka to have its Net-Zero Science Based Targets approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)! We’re committing to the following near-term and net-zero goals to support our Future First Sustainability Roadmap agenda: Near-Term Target: Reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 54.6% by 2033 from a 2022 base year, and scope 3 emissions from purchased goods and services by 32.5% by 2033 as well. Net-Zero Target: Achieve a 90% reduction in scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 2050 from a 2022 base year, and a 90% reduction in all scope 3 emissions including purchased goods and services, capital goods, fuel-and-energy related activities, upstream and downstream transportation and distribution, and business travel by 2050. The approved SBTi targets are applicable for the countries where we are currently operating within our global footprint.
