Janathakshan GTE Ltd. successfully organized a district-level experience-sharing program on 10th October 2024 at Nilawin Hotel, Chilaw, under the ‘Strengthening Disability Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation Process through the Empowerment of Marginalized Communities in Sri Lanka’ project, funded by Christian Blind Mission (CBM). This program focused on the regional planning process carried out in the Polpithigama Divisional Secretariat to reduce disaster risks and enhance climate change adaptation with the active participation of persons with disabilities and local communities. The event saw the participation of the Additional District Secretary, Assistant District Secretary, 11 Divisional Secretaries, and 04 Assistant Divisional Secretaries from the Puttalam district. Additionally, 05 government officials from Polpithigama DS, including the Divisional Secretary of Polpithigama, representatives from non-governmental organizations, and members of the District Self-Employed Disabled Association were in attendance. The Divisional Secretary of Polpithigama shared valuable experiences on the implementation of the project, while the Deputy Director (Planning) discussed the integration of project activities into the Divisional Secretariat's 2024 development plan.
