As a talented engineer at Akoneer, Giedrė’s journey is an example of determination and breaking barriers in a traditionally male-dominated industry. Giedrė’s fascination with creating and building started early. "As a child, I was always interested in making things—from crafting wooden sculptures to assembling wheelbarrows from scraps of metal," she shares. Her father, an engineer, played a pivotal role in shaping her career path. "Watching him repair cars and devices was how I got my first hands-on experience, and I loved helping out when I could." Since joining Akoneer, Giedrė has been involved in advancing laser technology, particularly in SSAIL applications. "Laser technology is a promising field across industries like chip manufacturing and healthcare," she explains. "I’m especially intrigued by SSAIL’s potential in RF electronics, including patch antennas and RF circuits. It’s exciting to be part of a team exploring such cutting-edge innovations." She appreciates Akoneer’s inclusive and dynamic work environment. "Our team is incredibly diverse in age and experience, which creates a unique space for collaboration. Learning from experienced colleagues and working alongside young, creative minds keeps the atmosphere engaging and inspiring," Giedrė notes.
