  • The latest 3rd issue of Journal of Measurements in Engineering is published! This edition features innovative research that advances the field of measurements in engineering. Editor-in-Chief, Ragulskis Minvydas, had the following comment of what were the key areas of research in the latest issue: "Discover cutting-edge engineering advancements in the latest Journal of Measurements in Engineering. Explore innovative techniques like the JTC online fault diagnosis method and a new SOLOv2-based model for bridge crack detection. Dive into studies on bearing material analysis and more." The article that Ragulskis Minvydas selected for Editor’s Pick was “Bridge crack segmentation and measurement based on SOLOv2 segmentation model" by Haiping Ding and Songying Wu This study proposes a novel approach for bridge crack detection and measurement using an improved SOLOv2 segmentation model. By incorporating an attention mechanism, the method achieves remarkable segmentation accuracy (up to 93.57%) and minimizes errors in crack length and width calculations, with deviations as low as 0.05 mm.
