Yesterday, Harju Elekter Lithuania MD Tomas Prūsas took the stage to present Lithuania's vision for 2030 as an engineering powerhouse in the “Industrial Business Plan 2025” conference in Estonia. Representing LINPRA - Engineering and Technology Industries Association of Lithuania, key achievements and goals were highlighted: ✅ Lithuania’s engineering industry contributes 5% of the country's GDP, accounting for 21% of total exports. ✅ The sector employs 6% of Lithuania’s workforce, showcasing its pivotal economic role. ✅ Export growth is strong, with Europe being the main market, excluding Russia and Belarus. ✅ National initiatives like the STEAM TEAM: Young Engineers Championship 2024 inspire a new generation, as public perception of engineering careers continues to rise – 81% of Lithuanians see engineering as promising! In Lithuania, November 6th is celebrated as Cake Day. This heartwarming tradition encourages everyone to bake and sell cakes to colleagues, with all proceeds going to charity. This year, at Harju Elekter Lithuania, our team brought their best homemade cakes and raised funds to support a local animal shelter. With the donations, we purchased essential items for the Panevėžys Animal Welfare Association and proudly donated them on behalf of Harju Elekter. Engineering Classroom - OPEN! 🥳 Harju Elekter Lithuania, together with ABB, has established an engineering classroom at Panevėžys "Minties" Engineering Gymnasium. Here, students are learning to use advanced soldering stations, work with 3D design software "Solid Edge", and electrical control panels. The classroom is equipped with 19 workstations, and a 3D printer has been added to enhance practical experiments. We were thrilled to participate in the "Study and Career Day 2024" in Panevėžys on October 9th, held at the "Kalnapilis" Arena where students from grades 8–12 explored future study and career opportunities, engaging with industry professionals and gaining valuable insights into career paths like engineering. It was great to see so many enthusiastic young minds visiting our stand, learning about Harju Elekter Group, and expressing interest in engineering.
