Through extensive R&D efforts, KIKA Groups aims to strengthen its position in the global market by scientifically validating the superior qualities of its pet food. A leading Baltic pet food manufacturer recently concluded a comprehensive scientific study confirming the nutritional value of its pet food products. The research, conducted in collaboration with the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU) Veterinary Academy, focused on dogs of all ages, including puppies, pregnant and nursing females, and adult dogs.

KIKA Group sources 50% of electricity from 🌞 solar! Back in November 2019, KIKA GROUP took a significant step towards sustainability by launching its first 700 kW ground-mounted solar power plant. Since then, the company expanded it's solar power plants to a total capacity of 2.38 MW, installed on the rooftops of its manufacturing facilities, offices and kennels, as well as on the ground. In the last 12 months alone, the group produced 2,445 MWh of clean solar energy, covering about half of its total energy needs. The remaining energy for its production, kennels, and administrative operations was sourced from an external provider. The largest solar power plant in the group, with a capacity of 1.65 MW, is located near the AKVATERA LT pet food factory in Zapyškis and supplies electricity directly to the factory. An additional 733 kW capacity is spread across the rooftops of various company-owned buildings, where possible. Even the offices in Kaunas and Klaipėda have 139 kW of solar power installed on rooftops. “Sustainable energy and resource management are key components of our group’s strategy. The widespread use of solar energy ensures more stable electricity prices for us. We are demonstrating to the market that sustainable energy in industry can be a well calculated, profitable, and energy-independent solution,” says Tauras Plungė, Co-founder of KIKA Group. This fall, KIKA Group will continue to expand its commitment to renewable energy at its planned new canned food factory in the Kaunas region, with construction set to begin later this year. The facility will feature a 500 kW rooftop solar power plant, as well as state-of-the-art heat pumps. Additionally, waste heat generated from production processes will be reused for heating, ensuring maximum energy efficiency.
