Light Conversion’s Yb-based #femtosecond #laser systems are used by India’s top-tier universities and research centers. When paired with a #femtosecond #laser, Light Conversion’s #OPAs provide an invaluable source for #ultrafast #spectroscopy, nonlinear #microscopy, and a wide range of other scientific applications. For a comprehensive single-supplier solution, the #PHAROS or #CARBIDE laser can be combined with the #ORPHEUS series OPAs and the #HARPIA #ultrafast #spectrometer. This compact system performs sophisticated time-resolved spectroscopic measurements, offering an intuitive user experience and easy day-to-day maintenance. An important #OPA variation, #OPCPA systems, represents the only currently available laser technology that simultaneously provides high peak and average power with a few-cycle pulse duration – meeting the needs of the most demanding scientific applications. The few-cycle CEP-stable pulses are available in a compact table-top ORPHEUS-OPCPA or a larger TW-level OPCPA-HE.   Additionally, Light Conversion’s product portfolio includes the #CRONUS femtosecond laser sources, dedicated to #microscopy applications such as functional neuroimaging, optogenetics, and deep imaging using medium-repetition-rate three-photon excitation and fast high‑repetition-rate two-photon imaging, as well as widefield and holographic excitation using high-power laser sources. Learn which Light Conversion’s laser system can propel your research to new discoveries, meet Jelena Ivanova at the Ultrafast Sciences (UFS 2024) theme meeting at the National Institute of Science Education and Research in Odisha, India, on November 28–30th or join the company presentation: Industry Talk November 29, 2024 | 12:30 AM IST

Yb-based #femtosecond #lasers provide flexibility and reliability for a wide range of high-precision #micromachining applications across various materials. Process optimization can be achieved by varying the laser fluence, enabling high ablation efficiency and/or rate while maintaining high surface quality. By optimizing the size of the laser beam spot on the processed surface, the full optical power of the laser can be utilized, achieving the highest ablation rate, which is crucial for industrial applications. Researchers from the Center for Physical Sciences and Technology (FTMC) employed Light Conversion’s #CARBIDE #femtosecond #laser to test a variety of laser-matter interaction regimes in order to achieve different processed surface finishing qualities of stainless steel by adjusting the laser processing parameters. With #CARBIDE, it is possible to combine efficient ablation, surface texturing, and GHz burst polishing using a single laser source, while its broad range of processing parameters unlocks new possibilities for diverse laser applications. Congratulations to the research team on their publication and the beautiful cover featuring the laser-milled Fresnel lens cavity designed for LED diffusers. Light Conversion celebrates another milestone this year - shipping its 100th #HARPIA ultrafast #spectroscopy #system. The system performs a variety of sophisticated time-resolved spectroscopic measurements, allowing to explore processes in various materials with femtosecond temporal resolution. For instance, #ultrafast #spectroscopy provides insight into how plants, algae, and bacteria employ light to synthesize sugar from carbon dioxide and water, or what occurs inside the retina when a photon hits it. After all, these processes occur in less than a picosecond—how else could we study them if not with femtosecond lasers? #HARPIA spectroscopy systems offer clients a complete solution, with femtosecond lasers, optical parametric amplifiers, spectrometers, and dedicated measurement and analysis software all provided by Light Conversion. Today, the system offers three extension modules built around the HARPIA-TA transient absorption spectrometer, allowing to customize the system to specific measurement needs, and the HARPIA-TG transient grating spectroscopy system, designed to measure the diffusion coefficient, carrier lifetime, and diffusion length through direct optical means. Explore the development journey of #HARPIA ultrafast #spectroscopy #systems - from early flash photolysis experiments to today’s sophisticated applications - by following the link in the comments section.

Prof. Sergio Carbajo, assistant professor at UCLA and visiting professor at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, believes that precisely controlled shaping of ultrashort pulses’ phase and amplitude can optimize light-matter interactions in many ways - from individual electrons to complex materials. Such pulse shape optimization can cover applications as diverse as high-resolution spectroscopy or high-fidelity transfer of quantum states from photons to electrons for quantum computing. At SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, Prof. Sergio Carbajo contributes to developing the Linac Coherent Light Source (LCLS) – a state-of-the-art free electron laser (FEL) - as well as is one of its users pursuing his independent research. Beam time in such facilities is highly sought after and competitive, demanding 24/7 operation. Since a laser with a size and volume many orders of magnitude smaller than the FEL is essential for its daily operation, reliability, repeatability, and rapid support are of paramount importance. According to Prof. Sergio Carbajo, Light Conversion’s #CARBIDE #femtosecond #laser satisfies in full these demanding requirements. Explore the widely ranging achievement in phase and amplitude transfer demonstrated by Prof. Carbajo’s team using Light Conversion’s Yb-based #femtosecond #lasers, harmonic generators, and #OPAs by following the link in the comments section.
