NordForsk and the Research Council of Lithuania | Lietuvos mokslo taryba: A Nordic-Baltic Success Story in Collaboration 🤝 Since 2010, NordForsk and the Research Council of Lithuania have worked together to support researchers in various research projects, ranging from health initiatives to sustainable agriculture and social challenges. Both organisations benefit from this cooperation in several keyways. ➡ Such cooperation strengthens Lithuania's research ecosystem by enhancing expertise and promoting excellent research. ➡Furthermore, through Nordic-Baltic research collaboration, outcomes, and an impact of greater quality for the countries involved can be achieved than through national activities alone. ➡Nordic researchers have greatly benefited from the NordForsk initiatives. The cooperation with the Research Council of Lithuania is fostering even broader and more robust research collaborations between Nordic countries and Lithuania, introducing innovative ideas and new networks.

This week, we’re excited to kick off introductory training sessions as part of our project “NGOs equipped for civic resilience” initiated together with Nacionalinė NVO koalicija / National NGO Coalition, The Finnish National Rescue Association SPEK and County Administrative Board of Skåne This is the first project of its kind in Lithuania, where organized civil society is proactively inviting national and local government institutions to co-create practical mechanisms for public engagement in crisis management. 📅 Training sessions are now happening across six municipalities: Telšiai, Klaipėda, Kėdainiai, Kupiškis, Alytus, and Vilnius region. These sessions aim to equip NGOs and public authorities with the tools they need to build civic resilience against unconventional threats such as cyber incidents, hybrid attacks, and disinformation. The Nordic-Baltic region faces evolving challenges, and this initiative fosters strong partnerships between civil society and government, drawing from the experiences of Nordic countries and Ukraine. 👉 Read more about the project here: https://lnkd.in/dVditaVp #CivicResilience #NordicBalticCooperation #CrisisManagement #NGOs #CivilSociety #CommunityPreparedness #Collaboration #ResilienceBuilding Photos by National NGO Coalition, NGO training in Telšiai, Lithuania
