More data for safer roads!   New parameters have been added to the extended package for FMx150 and FMx250 models. Now these #trackers can detect speed limit road signs and indicate if a vehicle is speeding. "I could write a book on the importance of thorough #testing, but simply put, it is essential for delivering a reliable, high-quality product," says Dovydas Ivanauskas, Testing team lead at #Teltonika. Together with Dovydas, let's explore what FT platform #trackers undergo before reaching our clients. "We begin the process with hardware testing, covering all components such as pinouts, overvoltage protection, GNSS and GSM antennas, modems, and more. In a thermal chamber, we simulate extreme high and low temperatures to ensure device performance under diverse conditions. To make it even more harsh, trackers are tested on a vibro stand, facing various G-forces and frequencies. For impact resistance, we utilise an in-house designed stand to simulate high-force crashes. After this, we start firmware testing. Our automated ‘farm’ allows us to efficiently perform scenarios with minimal manual labour. We try out core functionalities like data transmission, GPS tracking, and stability to ensure reliable operation under real-life conditions. Meanwhile, with the help of a base station, we simulate toggling between good and poor signal quality. When it comes to FT platform models, we also need to make sure the unique dead reckoning feature performs flawlessly. To take an extra step, we mount devices in our own vehicles, even during the development stage.
