Meet SAM ! At ArcelorMittal, Steel Additive Manufacturing (SAM) is used to keep critical parts working. For example, for sensors that are crucial to controlling our product quality. SAM consistently delivers on process quality and reliability, making it a proactive option for optimisation, not simply a last resort for obsolete parts or supply issues.   The following short video details a case from ArcelorMittal Asturias, (ArcelorMittal Spain), where a new high-precision pyrometer was recently installed. Juan Pablo López Alonso explains how SAM helped create a more precise, durable, and efficient solution, contributing to improved production reliability and maintenance. This is just one of many example applications likely to resonate across many manufacturing industries.   SAM parts are performing in the harshest production conditions enhancing production quality and reliability, boosting productivity and delivering value-in-use.   Contact us to discuss how SAM could improve your operations. #smartersteels #AdamIQ #SteelAdditiveManufacturing #3Dprinting

ArcelorMittal welcomed a number of high-profile guests to its steel plant in Gent, Belgium today.    Hosted by ArcelorMittal Europe CEO Geert Van Poelvoorde, we discussed the state of the steel industry in Europe with Mrs Teresa Ribera, the European Commission’s Executive Vice-President for a Clean, Just and Competitive Transition and Mr Stéphane Séjourné, Executive Vice-President for Prosperity and Industrial Strategy. We were also delighted to welcome the Prime Minister of Belgium, Alexander De Croo, Flemish Minister-President Matthias Diependaele, the Mayor of Gent Mathias De Clercq, Alderman Sofie Bracke and a number of other guests.    Together with other steelmakers in Europe, in recent months we have spoken out on a number of issues that are profoundly affecting our ability to competitively produce steel in Europe today: a record high in steel imports, driven by significant global overcapacity and weak trade defence; high energy costs; and climate policy that does not currently provide the level playing field we need, at a time when we need to invest significant capital to decarbonise our steelmaking assets.    We would like to thank the Commissioners for coming to listen to us today. Putting the steel sector on their agendas for the first week in their new role is a positive sign and we hope that that this is the start of impactful change that will give us the sustainable future that we want for our European operations.

Stop for a moment ... and look around you. 🏙️ From sports stadiums to state-of-the-art houses, from tunnels to durable roofs - steel is everywhere. But have you ever really noticed it? 🌳 Did you know that some facades look like wood, but are actually rock-solid steel? These facade panels are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also able to withstand the challenges of the climate. ⚡ Or that some roofs not only protect, but also generate energy? Which brings us another step closer to sustainability. 🏛️ Or how about the iconic Royal Dutch Mint building, where steel is used for both functionality and visual impact? 🚇 And we can't forget the tunnels! Here the steel withstands harsh weather conditions and wear and tear, and at the same time provides a refined finish that in turn gives a modern look. Our steel is more than a building material - it becomes a story. A story of strength, durability and aesthetics that helps architects push boundaries. Swipe and discover how steel is shaping the world around us. You may soon be looking at your surroundings with new eyes. 👀 Where do you see steel now?
