Giuseppe Manfredi will remain at the helm of the Italian Volleyball Federation (FIPAV) for another four years following the 47th General Assembly of the organisation held this weekend in Rimini. As the sole candidate standing for the position, Mr Manfredi received an overwhelming 96.8% of the votes cast by the 3,138 members in attendance. The members of the European Medical Commission (EMC) chaired by Dr Jacek Kruczynski came together this week at the home of European Volleyball in Luxembourg for their first plenary meeting of the 2024-2028 term. Since half of the EMC members are ‘newcomers’ to the Commission, this first in-person get-together was designed in such a way that as much information, know-how and experience as possible were shared among the attendees. I was truly honored to attend the Final Four Coppa Italia Frecciarossa this weekend in Bologna. It was an extraordinary and entertaining event, featuring world-class players and highlighting the top level of volleyball. 🏐 A huge congratulations to Prosecco Doc Imoco Volley Conegliano for their outstanding performance and well-deserved triumph over Numia Vero Volley Milano. Special recognition to Isabelle Haak, whose brilliance on the court earned her the MVP trophy. 🏆 On the same day, I also had the privilege of attending the Final of the Coppa Italia A2. Congratulations to Omag-Mt San Giovanni in Marignano for their victory over Itas Trentino, and to Serena Ortolani for being named MVP. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of visiting Sarajevo for a series of high-level meetings to reinforce our commitment to the sport’s growth in Bosnia and Herzegovina. 🏐 Together with President of the Volleyball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mr. Milutin Popović, and board member Mr. Mirsad Kadrić, I met with the leadership of the National Olympic Committee President Prof. Dr. Izet Radjo and Secretary General Mr. Said Fazlagić. An equally important meeting followed with the Minister of Civil Affairs, Ms. Dubravka Bošnjak, and Head of the Minister's Office, Mr. Davor Bošnjak whose portfolio includes sports.
