"FROM STONE TO FIBER" was the title of a seminar organised by JDC from Jeju / S-Korea on 5th of September 2024 in the premises of JDC in Jeju. GRADEL and Deustche Basalt Faser Gesellschaft presented a potential project for manufacturing basalt fibers made of Jeju basalt rock for multiple applications. One of those applications presented was our endless filament winding technology GRAM. Local production using local resources. Jeju is excellent positioned to serve the south-east Asian market with basalt lightweight products. The government of Jeju is interested to support this fascinating project for boosting sustainable business in Jeju. On 2nd of September 2024 our CEO, Claude Maack had the opportunity to present our GRAM Lightweight technology for aerospace and architectural applications to students and their professors of the HANYANG University in Seoul. Our special thanks go to Prof. Bae Sungchul PhD., Head of Architectural Engineering & Construction and James KIM from DDE, who organised the meeting.
