In May 2021, Helix Space started operations; its Mission, to use existing and future research infrastructure on Earth’s orbit to develop and commercialize biomolecules, biomaterials, and nutritional supplements for preventive and therapeutic management of human and veterinary diseases on Earth. By September 2022 we finished Phase 0 of our Mission; we identified a target market with great scale-up potential whose needs were not satisfied by the Pharma/Biotech industries. By October 2023 we finished Phase 1 of our Mission; we assessed the stakeholder environment to determine the maturity of the different players (specially microgravity service providers), and how easy (or not) is to work with them. Based on this assessment, we re-defined the Implementation Plan for a shorter Time to Market. Today, August 5th, 2024, we are proud to announce that we have finished Phase 2 of our Mission: we have successfully developed a PoC “Made in Luxembourg” that will serve as a baseline for future iterations. What is next? Test, iterate, test, iterate…so one day we can make the ultimate test on orbit. We must add that since the day we started operations, we have leveraged on the income generated via contracts for Funding, Innovation & Cybersecurity services in the Aerospace & Defence sectors. We want to thank our over dozen customers for their confidence and trust, for they are a key element to help us achieve our Mission.
