🌱It's truly inspiring to hear about the hard work and dedication of these communities who work tirelessly every day to sustain their livelihoods in preserving their lands and forests amidst the current geopolitical uncertainty. This experience underscores the importance of amplifying the voices of these critical yet often overlooked stakeholders in policy discussions. A heartfelt thank you Kaspar Wansleben, FCA, Conjunto Predial, the Indigenous BioItza community, and Cooperativa Carmelita in Mexico and Guatemala for sharing the stories and perspectives.🌿 With the Forestry and Climate Change Fund, we are directly contributing to the fight against climate change and the preservation of our natural forests resources. Together, we can make a lasting impact.
My wishes for 2025 2025 started swiftly, I am in the middle of a tour of all the partners of the IforD - Forestry and Climate Change Fund in Central America. In the current context of (geo-)political uncertainty and re-alignments it has been particularly enlightening to listen to the communities working extremely hard every day to make a living while preserving their lands and forests – storing #carbon and preserving #biodiversity for the benefit of all of us. And it reveals that much of global policy debate and ideological conflicts could benefit greatly from making an effort to listen to the voices of these critical yet mostly overheard stakeholders. So, thank you Conjunto Predial, the Indigenous BioItza community and Cooperativa Carmelita in Mexico and Guatemala for sharing your concerns. To 2025, a year of listening more carefully. My best wishes to all, Kaspar
