Our ninth Ikano Health week proved to be one of the most successful yet, with a record breaking 3,574 co-workers joining in on the fun! Together we have focused on our physical and mental wellbeing, collecting as many hours as possible towards a donation to this year’s chosen charity. We managed to reach a total of 12,191 hours, with 9841 dedicated to our physical health and 2350 to our mental health. This is more than enough to enable us to make a full donation of EUR 150,000 to Pestalozzi Children's Foundation project: Tak Border Child Assistance in Thailand, helping migrant children get access to education in their own language, and with that giving them hopes of a better future. Once again, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to all the donors in our Ikano Bike fundraiser 2024, who made it possible for us to hand over a EUR 114,480 check to Mrs. Berta Kamprad’s Cancer Foundation. Five days ago, 16 Ikano cyclists left Asker, Norway on a fundraising mission. Today, they reached the end of the ride in Älmhult, Sweden, and were greeted outside the IKEA museum by representatives from Mrs. Berta Kamprad’s Cancer Foundation, as well as enthusiastic Ikano and IKEA co-workers. Ahead of the ride, we had set a goal of raising EUR 70,000, but already before the cyclists took off, this had been reached and we upped our goal to EUR 100,000. We’re so happy to say that even this goal was set too low, and today we were able to hand over a check of no less than EUR 113,785 (an all time high!) to the foundation, which will go towards their important work supporting and treating cancer diseases. And they’re off! As we’ve previously shared, we’re repeating last year’s successful Ikano Bike fundraiser, and now the cyclists are on their way! They departed from Asker, Norway this morning and over the course of five days, they will cycle across the border to Sweden and all the way to Älmhult, pedalling a total of 600 km. This year, they’re raising funds for Mrs. Berta Kamprad’s Cancer Foundation and its important work supporting research and treatment of cancer diseases. We want to thank all those who have donated so far, helping us reach EUR 70,000 already ahead of the bike ride. Of course, we’re not stopping here, and now we’re aiming even higher, hoping to reach EUR 100,000. If you feel that you can, all donations are welcome, regardless of the amount. Today we kicked off the 9th edition of our annual Ikano Health week. During this week, our co-workers come together to dedicate as many hours as possible to their physical and mental wellbeing, leading up to a donation to a chosen charity. This year, we’ve partnered with Pestalozzi Children's Village and their Tak Border Child Assistance project in Thailand, giving migrant children access to education in their own language. The goal is to collectively spend more than 13,000 hours running, squatting, swimming, meditating – anything that helps us improve our mental and physical health. In many offices, we offered our co-workers a healthy start to the day, with breakfast and fun activities for mind and body. As part of this year’s Health week, the Ikano Bike ride fundraiser will start rolling on Monday, with cyclists riding all the way between Asker, Norway and Älmhult, Sweden, to raise funds for Mrs. Berta Kamprad’s Cancer Foundation.
