LuxMobility organised a meeting with the European Investment Bank (EIB) in #Luxembourg and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, Republic of Turkey, Deputy Director General for EU and Foreign Relations, Mrs. Ömrüye Ayan, SUMP Project manager Mr. Kubilay Atlay, Düzce Deputy Mayor Mr. Hasan Günden responsible for transportation, and Director of Planning and Urbanization, Mr. Kalender Aydın, and their teams. The meeting allowed to exchange views with the representatives of the European Investment Bank on possible financing of the #SUMP implementations in #Türkiye, and #Düzce in particular. An important step to bring Sustainable Mobility forward. - Deputy Mayor Hasan Günden presented the Düzce vision of "A #Safe, #Livable and #Accessible #Düzce" with projects such as #PublicTransport corridors, #Bicycle paths, #LowEmission zones and modern #parking solutions. - Mr. Kubilay Atlay emphasized the opportunities that may arise from the completed and current #SKUP projects in Turkey and the Trans-European Transport Network (#TEN-T) arrangements. - In addition, it was stated that the EIB allocates 17% of its financing in Turkey to the transport sector, and that loans and grant programs were maintained to support projects such as electric bus fleets, charging stations, and alternative fuel infrastructures.
