On 26 November, the Ministry of Finance participated in the third Partnership Event of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance - University of Luxembourg at Mudam Luxembourg. As part of this occasion, the Ministry, represented by Lara Jacoby, awarded the Chair in Sustainable Finance Award to Ekaterina Klepikova, the top-performing student of the Sustainable Finance Track within the MSc in Economics and Finance. The Minister of Finance, Gilles Roth, signed a tax treaty with Sheik Dr. Abdullah bin Salim bin Hamad AL Harthi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. This new tax treaty, which fully complies with the latest international standards in terms of transparency and the fight against tax evasion, will enable Luxembourg to continue developing economic relations by facilitating investment between the two countries. Minister Roth underlined, that this treaty is an important instrument to promote the exchange of goods and services as well as the movement of capital, technology and people between two countries.

Minister Gilles Roth welcomed the latest FinTech and AI initiatives at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) that were presented to him and Stéphanie Obertin, Minister for Research and Higher Education, by Prof.Yves Le Traon, Prof. Gilbert Fridgen and Dr. Maxime Cordy. The Ministry of Finance funds the Finnovation Hub of the SnT. The Finnovation Hub focuses on promoting innovation in finance in areas such as cybersecurity, FinTech, RegTech or sustainable finance.. Yesterday, Minister Gilles Roth was present at the event entitled "Bridging Global Financial Centres: Synergies and Strategies for London and Luxembourg", organised by the British Chamber of Commerce.
