🤸♀️Community Building Conference recap🤸♀️ On November 5th, partners of the Healthy Lifestyles for Europe project (HL4EU) organised their Community Building Conference in #Brussels, bringing together over 5️⃣0️⃣ participants, including policymakers, researchers, and stakeholders from ⚕️health, 🚲mobility, ⛹️♀️sports, and physical activity sectors. Together, we explored cross-sectoral strategies to advance healthy lifestyles and combat non-communicable diseases (#NCDs) across Europe. 🚀 Key Highlights from the Conference: 🔹 European Initiative for Exercise in Medicine e.V. (EIEIM) presented the new data base gathering over 50 inspiring practices from partners that showcase innovative public-private collaborations for health. 🔹 Floor Van Houdt reflected on the lessons learned from the EC #HealthyLifestyle4All campaign, which gathered over 50 pledges from organisations across Europe. 🔹 Dr Juana Willumsen presented the World Health Organization global action plan on on physical activity 2018 - 2030 and key recommendations to reduce physical inactivity. 🔹 Michele Cecchini from OECD - OCDE stressed the significant burden that physical inactivity places on EU Member States and presented the OECD guidebook on Best Practices in Public Health. 🔹Knut Inge Klepp presented the "Joint Action Prevent NCD" initiative to enhance Member States' capacity in implementing prevention policy, improving monitoring systems and reducing social inequalities. 🔹A panel discussion moderated by Jerome Pero from the Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry gathering high-level stakeholders from the European Commission (Stefano Pintus), Hungarian Presidency (Kitti Almer), OECD - OCDE (Dr Juana Willumsen) and the Faculty of Sport & Exercise Medicine (Dr Ashley Ridout) exchanged ideas on innovative strategies and cross-sectoral approaches to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
