    AWS VPC endpoints let you 🔐 privately connect to AWS services without data traffic leaving the AWS network. There are two types: Interface and Gateway Endpoints. Key differences include: - Interface: Subnet-level, supports more services, security groups, cross-region / on-premises access, with additional charges. - Gateway: VPC-level, supports S3 and DynamoDB, no security groups, and no cost.     💡 Connecting two or more VPCs to route traffic privately between them is widely used in different architectures and solutions, such as multi-tier applications, hybrid cloud configurations, cross-account connectivity, and data replication.     There are two main building blocks that allow you to control access to AWS resources within the VPC - Security Groups and Network Access Control Lists (NACLs). They both play a crucial role in controlling traffic, but they’re not quite the same: - Security Group is on Instance Level vs. NACL is on Subnet Level. - Security Group is Stateful vs. NACL is Stateless. - Security Group doesn't have Rules Processing Order. - Security Group has Allow Only rules vs. NACL has Allow and Deny Rules. - Security Group has more flexibility for Source/Destination for Rules. - Multiple Security Groups per instance vs. One NACL per subnet. - Default Security Group Configuration vs. Default Network ACL Configuration For more detailed hands-on comparison see my latest article: https://lnkd.in/din2JMQe #aws #network #cloud #nacl #securitygroups
