  • 📊 Who are the largest employers in the Baltic States? We name them in our autumn issue. 🌍 According to the newest Baltic Business Quarterly (Autumn edition), a recent survey by Lursoft Ltd. reveals that the largest employers in the Baltic region are primarily in retail and healthcare, with Lithuania emerging as the leader. 🏆 The top 50 employers include 23 companies from Lithuania, 15 from Latvia, and 12 from Estonia. Leading the list is the Maxima LT retail chain, with its Lithuanian branch employing a staggering 11,409 people. Latvia and Estonia follow suit, with Maxima’s operations employing 6,222 and 3,111 people respectively. Meanwhile, IKI and key healthcare institutions also rank among the top employers, highlighting the importance of these sectors. 🏥🛒 Despite their shared EU membership, the study noted that differences in how employment data is recorded across the three countries present challenges in direct comparisons. For instance, Estonia’s largest employer is the University of Tartu with 5,320 employees—quite a contrast to Lithuania’s retail dominance. As the region continues to digitize, we can expect shifts in employment trends, particularly within service industries, which offer significant growth potential. 🔍 #Baltics #Employment #Retail #Healthcare #JobMarket #DigitalTransformation #LursoftSurvey #BalticBusinessQuarterly
