Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Wednesday at 11:05AM

Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(up 5.51%), Coal India Ltd.(up 2.90%), NMDC Ltd.(up 2.56%), The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(up 2.51%), MOIL Ltd.(up 2.36%), Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(up 2.23%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(up 1.54%), Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(up 1.21%), Pokarna Ltd.(up 1.19%) and Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(up 0.65%) were among the top gainers.

Oriental Trimex Ltd.(down 1.20%), KIOCL Ltd.(down 0.48%) and Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(down 0.15%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 66.46 points at 23242.5, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 315.21 points at 76814.84 at around 11:05AM.

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 4.0%), NTPC Ltd.(up 3.85%), Coal India Ltd.(up 2.94%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 1.96%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 1.96%), Trent Ltd.(up 1.81%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 1.32%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(up 1.31%), UltraTech Cement Ltd.(up 1.14%) and Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 1.13%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bajaj Finance Ltd.(down 2.42%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(down 2.34%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 2.07%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 2.02%), Shriram Finance Ltd.(down 1.62%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 1.6%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.47%), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 1.38%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 1.35%) and Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.22%) were trading in the red.
