     Susan Balfour was the daughter of Sir Michael Balfour, 6th Bt.¹ She married Robert Hamilton, 6th of Wishaw, son of William Hamilton, 4th of Wishaw and Bethia Hamilton, on 11 February 1764 at New Kirk, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹ She died on 9 January 1789 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹
     From 11 February 1764, her married name became Hamilton.¹ After her marriage, Susan Balfour was styled as Baroness Belhaven and Stenton on 25 January 1777.

     William Hamilton of Wishaw, 7th Lord Belhaven and Stenton was born on 13 January 1765.¹ He was the son of Robert Hamilton, 6th of Wishaw and Susan Balfour.¹ He was baptised on 22 January 1765 at Cambusnethan, Scotland^G.¹ He married Penelope Macdonald, daughter of Ranald Macdonald, 19th of Clanranald and Moidart and 5th of Benbecula and Flora Mackinnon, on 2 March 1789 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.² He died on 29 October 1814 at age 49 at Wishaw House, Scotland^G.¹ He died intestate and his estate was administered in June 1834.²
     He succeeded as the 7th Lord Belhaven and Stenton, co. Haddington [S., 1647] on 27 March 1784.¹ He gained the rank of officer in the 3rd Dragoons (King's Own.)¹ On 25 April 1799 his title of Lord Belhaven and Stenton was confirmed in his favour by the House of Lords.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in the Lanarkshire and Dunbartonshire Fencible Cavalry.¹

     Penelope Macdonald was the daughter of Ranald Macdonald, 19th of Clanranald and Moidart and 5th of Benbecula and Flora Mackinnon.¹ She married William Hamilton of Wishaw, 7th Lord Belhaven and Stenton, son of Robert Hamilton, 6th of Wishaw and Susan Balfour, on 2 March 1789 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹ She died on 5 May 1816 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹
     From 2 March 1789, her married name became Hamilton.¹

     Hamilton Campbell was born circa 1790.¹ She was the daughter of Walter Campbell, 9th of Skipness and 3rd of Shawfield and Mary Nisbet.^1,2 She married Sir Robert Montgomery Hamilton of Wishaw, 8th Lord Belhaven and Stenton, son of William Hamilton of Wishaw, 7th Lord Belhaven and Stenton and Penelope Macdonald, on 16 December 1815 at Cambusnethan, Scotland^G.¹ She died on 8 September 1873 at Wishaw House, Scotland^G, without issue.¹ She was buried at Cambusnethan, Scotland^G.¹
     After her marriage, Hamilton Campbell was styled as Baroness Belhaven and Stenton on 16 December 1815. From 16 December 1815, her married name became Hamilton.¹ After her marriage, Hamilton Campbell was styled as Baroness Hamilton of Wishaw on 10 September 1831.

     Mary Nisbet was the daughter of William Nisbet of Dirleton and Mary Hamilton.² She married, secondly, Walter Campbell, 9th of Skipness and 3rd of Shawfield, son of John Campbell, younger of Shawfield and Henrietta Cuninghame.² She married, firstly, Major William Hay, son of John Hay and Dorothy Hayhurst, on 6 March 1779.²
     Her married name became Campbell.² Her married name became Hay.

     Mary Clarke is the daughter of David Clarke.¹ She married Archibald Hamilton, son of James Hamilton, 2nd of Stevenston and Mary Nisbet, on 25 February 1810.²
     From 25 February 1810, her married name became Hamilton.²

     William Ramsay, 3rd Earl of Dalhousie was the son of George Ramsay, 2nd Earl of Dalhousie and Lady Anne Fleming.² He married Lady Mary Moore, daughter of Henry Moore, 1st Earl of Drogheda and Hon. Alice Spencer, before 1682.¹ He died after 28 February 1682.^1,2
     He held the office of Sheriff of County Edinburgh in 1672.² He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] in 1672.² He succeeded as the 4th Lord Ramsay of Dalhousie [S., 1619] circa May 1674.² He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Dalhousie, co. Midlothian [S., 1633] circa May 1674.² He succeeded as the 3rd Lord Ramsay of Carrington [S., 1633] circa May 1674.² He gained the rank of Captain in 1678 in the Edinburgh Militia.² He fought in the Battle of Bothwell Bridge on 23 December 1679, where he was second in-charge of the Earl of Mar's Regiment.²
