     He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)3 He lived at Greenden, Farnell, Brechin, Angus, Scotland.4 He lived at Altina, Crieff, Perthshire, Scotland.4 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Black Watch.1

     Edmund Bray, 1st Lord Braye was born circa 1484.2 He was the son of John Bray.1 He married Jane Halliwell, daughter of Sir Richard Halliwell and Jane Norbury, before 21 March 1500/1.1,3 He died on 18 October 1539.1 He was buried at Chelsea, London, EnglandG.1 His will was proven (by probate) on 12 March 1540.1
     He was appointed Knight on 13 October 1513.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Bedfordshire from 1514 to 1515.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Sussex in 1522.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Surrey in 1522.1 He was created 1st Lord Braye [England by writ] on 9 August 1529.1 His last will was dated 18 October 1539.

     Marianne Gibson was the daughter of Archibald Gibson.1 She married Hugh Corsar Arbuthnott, son of Lt.-Col. Hon. Hugh Arbuthnott and Susannah Morrison Campbell, on 27 December 1886.1 She died on 27 July 1943.1
     She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 From 27 December 1886, her married name became Arbuthnott.1
