About us

myAgro is an award-winning organization that equips smallholder farmers in West Africa to move out of poverty and thrive. Smallholder farmers produce 70% of food consumed in West Africa, yet remain the largest group of people living under $2/day globally. With myAgro’s innovative mobile layaway platform, farmers can save money little-by-little to buy packages of farm inputs and climate smart training, all delivered right to their village. With package options including seeds, fertilizer, trees, and poultry, myAgro helps farmers diversify and increase their yields and income. On average, myAgro farmers produce 50-100% more food and earn US$50-150 more income – strengthening their families’ food security, financial independence, and resilience to climate shocks. We’ve grown from 240 farmers in 2011 to more than 250,000 in 2024, and will continue to scale in the coming years to reach our North Star goal of serving one million farmers in West Africa. Unlock opportunity for women farmers in Senegal with myAgro Poultry! Amy joined us this year as a poultry #entrepreneur. With little knowledge about the business, she was a quick study. Through myAgro’s training, she gained skills in poultry raising, sales, and managing her books to reach 500 farmers in her region with packages of dual-purpose chicks. In an area where many women lack access to farmland, #PoultryFarming is a practical and profitable endeavor that can be managed close to home. Amy explains,“Working from home is advantageous for us women in Senegal. That’s why this project is so wonderful – it allows women to gain independence and make a living.” For Amy’s customers – most of whom are women – poultry is a game-changer that provides their families with meat and eggs, to be sold or consumed all year-round. This means more stable income to save or pay for food, school, healthcare, and other needs. On the front lines of climate change in Senegal, this consistency helps families build resilience to shocks. As we work to provide more women with this life-changing opportunity, myAgro is launching an End of Year Campaign to grow a network of 150 women-led poultry enterprises by December 2025. our contribution will transform women’s livelihoods, strengthen household food security, and build #ClimateResilience for rural communities across Senegal. Join us to support women like Amy in launching her poultry start-up. 🔗 below, and 🔁 to help us reach more people. All contributions accepted here : https://shorturl.at/pHtXi

We are excited to announce that myAgro has signed a partnership with the Senegalese Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty, and Livestock (MASAE). This collaboration represents a pivotal advancement in our commitment to empowering smallholder farmers throughout Senegal. myAgro operates in 10 regions, impacting over 2,000 villages across the country. Our mission is to enable farmers to invest in high-quality seeds, fertilizers, and tools through our innovative mobile savings model. In conjunction with MASAE, we aim to enhance food sovereignty and inspire youth to engage in agriculture, which is vital for the future of Senegal's farming landscape. This partnership also opens doors to transformative opportunities in agricultural digitalization. It will facilitate easier access to vital information for farmers, enhance agricultural practices via digital platforms, and streamline the value chain, fostering a more modern and interconnected agricultural system. We are enthusiastic about the positive changes this will bring to rural communities and are determined to reach one million smallholder farmers by 2025.

Thanks, The Audacious Project for highlighting the importance of supporting women in agriculture. myAgro's mobile layaway model continues to enable women smallholder farmers a way to save in small increments toward the purchase of high-quality inputs, climate-smart agricultural training, and local delivery. As a result, they are better prepared to manage climate shocks, and they have larger harvests and earn more income. We continue to design our program with and for women farmers!
