  • During his recent trip to San Francisco for the Startup World Cup 2024, our Managing Partner Azbayar Altangerel had met with Consul General Munkhbaatar Begzjav at the Mongolian Consulate in San Francisco. The meeting focused on strengthening the Mongolian startup ecosystem and expanding our emerging startups into the US market. Aza and the Consul General discussed the immense potential for Mongolian innovators to make their mark on the international stage, as well as strategies to foster growth and attract foreign partnerships.   • 🏆🚀While attending the Startup World Cup 2024, our Managing Partner Azbayar Altangerel along with our portfolio company Ondo Space - CEO Nami Bold, and as well as our Central Asia Tech Summit x Startup World Cup Central Asia sponsors & our Exponential Zaisan Partners fund investors, had the privilege to visit Draper University and Hero City at Draper University in Silicon Valley.   • We are thrilled to share that our Managing Partner, Azbayar Altangerel, participated in the Startup World Cup 2024, joining the event alongside CEREBRA, the winner of Startup World Cup Central Asia and Ondo Space, the winner of the Startup World Cup Mongolia regional competition, as well as our regional sponsors who have been instrumental in making this event possible 🎉. On October 2nd, Cerebra AI & Ondo Space took the stage in the semi-final competition in San Francisco, representing Central Asia & Mongolia. Competing against 🌏84 other startups from around the globe, they showcased their vision and ambition, contributing to the spirit of global innovation at the world’s largest startup competition. Their participation marked a significant milestone for the Central Asian & Mongolian startup scene. 🏆The Grand Finale, held on October 4th, featured groundbreaking pitches from startups competing from all over the world for the prestigious $1 million investment prize. With more than 3,000 attendees and keynote speeches and fireside chats with industry leaders such as Robert Herjavec, Tim Draper, and top executives from companies like Salesforce, IBM, and NVIDIA, it was an unforgettable event. The grand prize went to EarthGrid PBC from Silicon Valley, USA for their revolutionary plasma tunnel-boring technology.   • We are excited to share that our Venture Partner, Denar Delgernaran Bayar attended the 2024 Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Innovation Week in Hangzhou, China!🇨🇳 This event brought together innovators, entrepreneurs, and policy makers from across Central Asia to explore new ideas and shape the future of tech and innovation in the region.📱 The Expo is co-hosted by the People's Government of Zhejiang Province and the Ministry of Commerce of PRC, and co-sponsored by Hangzhou Municipal People's Government, Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province and Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce. At the CAREC Seminar on AI-Driven Trade and E-Commerce, key discussions on AI’s impact on cross-border trade and connected with top Chinese e-commerce firms like Alibaba. He also attended the Global Digital Trade Expo, where over 1,500 enterprises from across the globe showcased innovations shaping the digital economy as well as Digital Trade Networking and Matchmaking Event. During his time at the event, Denar introduced Exponential Zaisan Partners, our early-stage fund focused on supporting the most promising startups from Central Asia and Mongolia. His presentation highlighted how we aim to help these startups scale through growth strategies and a global network. Denar is already connecting businesses in Mongolia to the Chinese companies he met during the trip, opening new doors for collaboration and growth.

    On July 9, 2024, the Central Asia Tech Summit x Startup World Cup Central Asia x Mongolia Economic Forum was held at the Chinggis Khan Museum, organized by Exponential Zaisan Partners, Pegasus Tech Ventures, and Nomadic Minds. This landmark event created a powerful platform to advance the startup ecosystem in Central Asia. The summit showcased the region's growing potential and set the stage for future growth. It was inaugurated by H.E. Uchral Nyam-Osor, Minister of Digital Development & Communications, and H.E. Richard Buangan, US Ambassador to Mongolia. Keynote speeches and panels featured legendary investors and entrepreneurs, including Bill Rechert from Pegasus Tech Ventures, Lorenzo Thione of Gaingels, Rebecca Fannin of Silicon Dragon Ventures, Milan Reinartz of NonPublic, and Daniel Royu from TikTok, among others. Leading corporations and venture capital funds supported the event, contributing significantly to the region's startup ecosystem. Synergy Fund Solution served as the gold sponsor, with MahoneyLiotta, Khan Bank, and Nippon Koei as bronze sponsors, each playing a crucial role in promoting local innovation. The summit aimed to highlight and support the most promising startups from the region. Over 121 startups from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, and Uzbekistan applied, showcasing exceptional talent. From these, the top 20 startups were selected to present their ideas. The competition was fierce, with four standout winners emerging: 1st Place: CerebraAI 2nd Place: Rock Rigid 3rd Place: InvestBanq and ONDO Space CerebraAI, the top winner, will join over 100 global finalists at the Startup World Cup Grand Finale in San Francisco on October 4, 2024, for a chance to win a $1,000,000 investment prize. All four finalists will also attend the We Make Future 2025 event in Italy. The Central Asia Tech Summit, Startup World Cup Central Asia, and Mongolia Economic Forum marked a significant advancement in the startup landscape of Central Asia and Mongolia, indicating a promising trajectory for continued growth and success in this vibrant and innovative community.
