AquaBioTech Group’s Head of RDI department, Simona Paolacci, is participating in the General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean Regional Aquaculture, taking place in Heraklion (Greece) on December 4th and 5th. Dr. Paolacci will be a keynote speaker in the thematic session “Restorative Aquaculture” and she will talk about how innovative technologies can support the sustainable expansion of aquaculture in the Mediterranean. The conference will highlight the importance of aquaculture within existing political commitments and generate insights and solutions to strengthen future actions towards a sustainable and resilient sector in the region. 📢 Early Career Ocean Professionals announcement ❗  🙌 It is with great excitement that we host the second onsite #training phase of the BLENDED course "Introduction to Oceanographic Survey Techniques and Data Management" in our premises in #Malta from 11 to 15 November.    🤝 We are thrilled to cooperate with OceanTeacher Global Academy, led by Gabriel Akoko Juma. 🙌 AquaBioTech Group Marine Team Update  🌊 Our #marine team conducted comparative water parameter #sampling in lab-controlled conditions and marine waters within our research project SMARTPOL.    🤝 This collaborative In-situ #Sensor Test between SMARTPOL consortium partners  AquaBioTech Group and University of Cape Town (UCT), focused on utilising the #AquaTROLL 500 multiparameter #Sonde to measure essential factors such as:    🔹 Conductivity: Indicates ion concentration and pollution levels.  🔹 pH: Essential for marine organism health and biodiversity.  🔹 Temperature: Impacts species metabolism and distribution.  🔹 Turbidity: Affects photosynthesis and feeding habits.  🔹 Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP): Assesses redox conditions crucial for benthic habitats.    💡 These measurements are vital for monitoring ecosystem health, guiding #conservation efforts, detecting #pollution, and supporting #research and #policymaking.     ✅ Our #commitment at AquaBioTech Group is to leverage advanced #technology for the #sustainable #monitoring of marine environments.    🔔 Stay tuned for more updates !

🌊 Shining a Light on the Blue Economy 🌊 AquaBioTech Group, in partnership with the ICA World and the Enterprise Europe Network - Malta, hosted a focused day on the Blue Economy during the ICA World Alliance Annual Conference. This year, we had the honor of engaging with experts from around the globe to discuss the vital role of the Blue Economy. Our sessions highlighted best practices and innovative initiatives, including: 🔵 The 𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐌𝐞𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 launched by the Government of Malta. 🔵 EIT Food’s frameworks aimed at accelerating innovation, entrepreneurship, and education in aquaculture and fisheries. 🔵 The essential efforts of United Nations agencies like the International Maritime Law Institute (IMLI) in training maritime law specialists and Regional Marine Pollution Emergency Response Centre for the Mediterranean Sea (REMPEC) in combating marine pollution. 🔵 The impactful contributions of NGOs and non-profits in driving a sustainable Blue Economy, with a focus on environmental and societal pillars. 🔵 Strategies for leveraging international collaboration through networks like the Enterprise Europe Network - Malta and the 𝐈𝐂𝐀 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 to advance our collective goals in policy development, strategic planning, and innovative solutions. 🔵 A series of productive B2B meetings that fostered valuable connections Is your country ready to elevate its Blue Economy initiatives?
