Last year, LegalTech.mu was launched in the middle of the first wave of COVID-19 as a pro-bono initiative to improve access to justice. As the situation improved in the country, we took a step back to work on our plans. While this second wave took the country by surprise nearly a year later, we had to accelerate our development and are now ready for Phase 2 of our launch. In a nutshell: * We have rebranded as The LexTech.mu Group. * LegalTech.mu is now our Research & Development Laboratory for Innovation in the Legal Sector. * LexTech.mu Chambers is our digital law chambers consisting of independent law practitioners using technologies developed by LegalTech.mu to power up their legal practice. New lockdown also calls for a new app: In view of the recrudescence of domestic violence cases during confinement, we developed over the past two weeks a web application to assist individuals, law practitioners and social workers in drafting applications for a protection order. Stay tuned for more updates.

The LexTech.mu Group was founded on the 1st May 2020 as LegalTech.mu, a pro-bono project to deliver legal technology applications to people and SMEs in distress following the economic and social consequences of the COVID-19 crisis. In the same spirit of leveraging legal technology to improve access to justice, LexTech.mu Chambers was established in December 2020. The independent law Chambers is powered by the technology from LegalTech.mu, Research & Development Laboratory for Innovation in the Legal sector.
