UK drill rapper DigDat specialises in subverting the genre’s inherently hardened nature, bringing a personal edge to his delivery. Born in 1999, the South London artist released his breakthrough single “AirForce” in 2018, a hit that received a star-studded remix featuring British-Jamaican duo Krept & Konan and fellow drill MC K-Trap. In 2019, DigDat would appear on Sierra Leonean musician Hardy Caprio’s breezy, boastful “Guten Tag” and New York rapper Lil Tjay’s “F.N [UK Remix]”, which saw DigDat leaning into his vulnerability. On his 2020 debut album, Ei8ht Mile, DigDat worked his introspective and steely sides into one distinct approach, as evidenced by the project’s title track, featuring Manchester artist Aitch.
