About Judith Sephuma
Though she’s often referred to as “The Queen of Afro Jazz”, Judith Sephuma’s extensive discography runs the gamut from jazz to contemporary gospel. The South African artist, born in 1974 in Polokwane in the Limpopo Province, graduated with a degree in Jazz Performance from the University of Cape Town in 1997. Her debut album, A Cry, A Dance, A Smile, released in 2001, showcased her dynamic voice, which found common ground between classical, jazz and R&B styles. In 2013, the gospel spirit that had always permeated her music gave way to a full-blown praise and worship album, The Experience.
