All year long, Shazam’s music recognition technology tracked what songs were being played on radio stations around the world. (That’s nearly 1 million hours of music each day, broadcasting on more than 40,000 stations from Sacramento to Stockholm to Seoul.) On hip-hop radio, viral success translated to major airplay for newcomer Tommy Richman and his debut single, “MILLION DOLLAR BABY”. With six entries, Post Malone dominated rap radio, while legends like Beastie Boys, Outkast and Dr. Dre stayed in heavy rotation.
