2024 has proven a momentous year for iZaak, no small feat for an artist who entered the music industry close to two decades earlier as a teen. The Puerto Rican singer-songwriter saw his late-2023 track “BBY BOO” turn into a quantifiable hit thanks to a remix featuring Anuel AA and JHAYCO. It’s just one of multiple singles that have built momentum around the erstwhile Los Menores member, making the arrival of Millo Blanco all the more intriguing. Looking forward rather than reaching back for recent fan favourites, the six songs here reflect the high level at which he’s now operating. His R&B side leads the way on opener “ABSOLUTELY”, its polyrhythmic bounce guiding his vocals. Though “EX ASS” with De La Rose continues in that fashion, a decidedly more hip-hop vibe pervades the booming “METRO” and the Hades66 collab “TOY”. Breaking briefly into reggaetón for the tropically tinged “X KBRON”, he reminds that he’s in no way limited to any specific form.
