Over the last few years, IDK has earned a reputation for looking at the world from a different angle, whether he’s crafting dense and detailed concept albums about the existence of God (2019’s Is He Real?), starting business programs at Harvard or helping people in prison get their GEDs. On his second LP, the London-born, Maryland-raised rapper (whose name stands for Ignorantly Delivering Knowledge) channels the crossover eclecticism of peak Kanye West, shifting comfortably between warped soul (“Dogs Don’t Lie”) and off-kilter, Young Thug-enriched trap (“PradadaBang”), always allowing for the deeply personal (“Cry in Church”) to shine through.
