Ben Platt

Ben Platt is an actor and songwriter known for portraying Evan Hansen in the Broadway run of Dear Evan Hansen and for his role in the movie Pitch Perfect. ∙ At age 9, Platt kicked off his musical career with a role in a production of The Music Man at Los Angeles’ famed Hollywood Bowl. ∙ For his Dear Evan Hansen role, he won a Tony for Best Actor in a Musical, and he became the youngest person ever to win the Drama League’s Distinguished Performance Award. ∙ Platt reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart in 2017 with “Waving Through a Window,” which appeared on the Grammy-winning Dear Evan Hansen cast soundtrack. ∙ In 2018, he and Lin-Manuel Miranda teamed up for a benefit song called “Found / Tonight” which mashed up music from Hamilton and Dear Evan Hansen. ∙ His 2019 debut album, Sing to Me Instead, debuted in the Top 20 of the Billboard 200. ∙ He received a Golden Globe nomination for his starring role on the streaming series The Politician.
