About Chinmayi Sripada
Multilingual singer Chinmayi Sripada graces both South Indian film songs and Bollywood tracks, adding gravitas to heartbreak and excitement to blossoming romances. • Sripada is a multi-faceted learner, taking up everything from classical and Carnatic music to web design, earning a psychology degree and studying the Odissi dance form. • After impressing on a TV music show, she was recommended to master composer A. R. Rahman, who brought her on board to sing for the 2002 Tamil film Kannathil Muthamittal. • Sripada is a versatile performer, singing in Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu and other Indian languages, as well as taking on dubbing roles. • Her popularity in Bollywood music grew after helming romantic songs like “Titli” from Chennai Express and “Zehnaseeb” from Hasee Toh Phasee, both composed by Vishal & Shekhar. • She teamed up with Rahman once again for the striking duet “Tere Bina” from 2007 film Guru, one of her best-known songs.
