In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. At 8 years old, I would use my grandmothers cassette player to loop the instrumental section of my favorite songs and would record myself rapping over them. This is how it all began. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? J. Cole, 2014 Forest Hills Drive Kendrick Lamar, To Pimp a Butterfly Saba, CARE FOR ME In no certain order, these 3 albums have not only inspired me, but have helped me stay true to the purpose of hip-hop. They are all very lyrical, heart-felt, genuine, yet genius. Had it not been for these albums, I wouldn't be the artist I am today. Tell us why you chose this song. “Try Again” This song has been the most influential on not only me as an artist, but as a person. I wrote this song in efforts to encourage others along with myself that no matter how many times you fail you can always try again. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The most memorable moment in my career was when I had the opportunity to ride in a golf cart with 18x grammy winning, mix engineer Leslie Brathwaite. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? In no certain order: winning a grammy, curating a movie soundtrack, shaking hands with and giving flowers to my favorite artists, headlining my own tour, and to make the gospel of Jesus Christ plain through the genre we call hip-hop.
