About Mint Condition

The R&B band Mint Condition found success throughout the 1990s with their blend of jazz, funk, soul and pop. • Led by singer Stokley Williams, Mint Condition formed in St. Paul, Minnesota, in the early 1980s. They were discovered and signed by famed Minneapolis producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis in 1989. They also toured with—and were mentored by—hometown icon Prince. • The group’s 1991 debut album, Meant to Be Mint, went Top 20 on the R&B chart thanks to the success of ballads like “Forever In Your Eyes” and “(Breakin’ My Heart) Pretty Brown Eyes”. • Their 1993 sophomore album, From the Mint Factory, includes the hit “You Send Me Swingin’”, which reached No. 2 on the R&B charts. • Mint Condition took a six-year hiatus after the release of their third album, 1999’s Life’s Aquarium. They returned—sans keyboardist Keri Lewis—in 2005 with the album Livin’ the Luxury Brown. • The band has since released five additional independent albums, including the Grammy-nominated 2015 Christmas record Healing Season.
