About Thomas Gold
A popular and prolific DJ and producer, Berlin-based Thomas Gold became one of Europe's leading names in progressive house music. Born Frank Thomas Knebel-Janssen, Gold began playing keyboards when he was seven, and he purchased his first digital synthesizer when he was 15. He was soon using his makeshift studio to make club music, and he opted to make music his career. Gold began releasing progressive house records in 2006, dropping the collaborative Paintbootiqa EP on the Mauritius label with his cohort, DJ Björn Mandry, sharing the credit. A number of 12" releases on Haiti Groove Recordings, Ministry of Sound, and other like-minded labels followed, leading Gold to 2010's high-powered gig remixing Fatboy Slim's "Star 69" single for the Skint label. In 2012, the satellite radio network SiriusXM began airing Gold's mix show, Fanfare. Gold's bookings as a live DJ exploded, as he appeared at major events including Ultra Music Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival, and Coachella. As a producer and artist, Gold was behind the controls for a string of successful digital singles, collaborating with Bright Lights ("Believe"), Lush & Simon ("Morphine"), Amersy ("Can't Stop This Feeling"), Rico & Miella ("On Fire"), and Jillian Edwards ("Magic"). In 2017, Gold headlined on his successful single "Better Version of Myself." ~ David Jeffries
