Sampa The Great: Black Power Represents
Apple Music
Born in Zambia, raised in Botswana, and traveling more and more as her star rises, Melbourne-based vocalist and MC Sampa the Great knows what it’s like to miss home. Her Black Music Month playlist, which includes selections from Thandiswa Mazwai, Burna Boy, and Angélique Kidjo, is a collection of songs that make her feel closer to where she wants to be. “I listen to this playlist to get me through my homesick times, remind me where I come from and the beautiful and passionate people I’m raised from,” she says. “With a few of my many inspirations, it’s proudly me, proudly black and from the diaspora.”
