Stoke-on-Trent multitasker Mark Ralph began his music career as a session guitarist, but in the 2010s he realised his true calling: teasing out the glitz and glamour in modern dance-pop songs. His work on Clean Bandit’s snappy “Rather Be” helped it become a mid-2010s global smash; his guidance of Jax Jones and MNEK’s pumping “Where Did You Go?” fuses the club music of the ’90s with the pop sensibilities of the 2020s.
