Few artists in house music have cast a longer shadow than Marc Kinchen, better known as MK. The Detroit-born producer got his start recording for Kevin Saunderson's KMS label in 1989, and his soulful touch soon led to piano-driven remixes for Chez Damier, Pet Shop Boys and even Céline Dion. In the '10s, the renewed popularity of deep house rebooted his career, and MK's trademarks—punchy organ bass, pumping keys and deliriously layered vocals—once again began dominating dance floors via Midas-like touch-ups for a wide range of dance and pop artists.
